What you get

The renovation cut the room count to give larger rooms and suites, many looking onto the Opera House. As the Hilton it was named Vietnam’s Leading Hotel by the World Travel Awards five years running.

Prices and buying

There is nothing to buy here. Apartments in the French Quarter are scarce; buyers usually look in Ba Dinh, Tay Ho or newer towers to the west of the city.

Renting and holiday use

Expect top-end Hanoi pricing following the Waldorf Astoria relaunch; check current rates directly with the hotel.

Pros and cons

  • Pros: prime French Quarter address next to the Opera House, fully renovated, international luxury brand
  • Cons: premium prices, central traffic, no long-stay apartments

Who it suits

Luxury travellers and business visitors who want to stay in the heart of the French Quarter.
