Amenities
Vinhomes Smart City is Vingroup’s township on Thang Long Boulevard in Tay Mo Ward, on the western side of Hanoi. Spread over roughly 280 hectares with a building density of only 14.7%, it is one of the largest apartment communities in the capital: around 58 high-rise towers of 30–39 floors grouped into sub-zones such as The Sapphire, The Metrolines, The Tonkin, The Canopy Residences, Masteri West Heights, Lumière Evergreen and Imperia Smart City. The first towers were handed over in 2020 and the area now feels like a small city of its own.

Location and connections
The township sits between Thang Long Boulevard, National Road 70 and the extended Le Trong Tan road. The National Convention Center is about seven minutes away by car, and the My Dinh – Tu Liem business area is a short drive further. For residents working in the west of Hanoi, this is a practical base: there is direct access to the boulevard towards Hoa Lac and to Ring Road 3 towards the city centre.
Rush-hour traffic on Thang Long Boulevard and Ring Road 3 can be heavy, so allow extra time if you commute to Hoan Kiem or Ba Dinh every day.
Sub-zones and apartment types
Each sub-zone has its own look and price level. Older blocks such as Sapphire 1 and 2 were aimed at first-time buyers, with compact layouts and basic finishes. Later zones – Masteri West Heights, Lumière Evergreen, The Canopy Residences – were developed with partners like Masterise Homes and come with higher specifications and higher prices per m².
- The Sapphire – the original mid-range towers, mostly studios to 2-bedroom units
- The Metrolines – themed blocks (Miami, Sakura, Victoria) popular with renters
- Masteri West Heights and Lumière Evergreen – premium towers with fitted interiors
- Imperia Smart City and The Sola Park – later phases by MIK Group
Amenities
The centrepiece is a lake and park of more than 10 hectares with a sandy shore, plus a Japanese garden that Vingroup markets as one of the largest in Southeast Asia. Day-to-day needs are covered on site: Vincom Mega Mall, Vinschool, shops in the tower podiums, sports courts and long walking paths.
- Central lake and park
- Japanese garden
- Vincom Mega Mall
- Vinschool kindergarten to high school
- Gyms, pools and children’s play areas in many towers
Buying at Vinhomes Smart City
Primary stock in most sub-zones has long been sold, so buyers today mainly deal with resale units. Prices vary widely between zones and towers, so compare the exact building, floor and view rather than a township-wide average. Always ask whether the unit already has a pink book or is still on a sale contract with the developer, as the paperwork and transfer costs differ.
Foreigners can buy in commercial towers here within the usual limits: up to 30% of the apartments in one building and ownership of up to 50 years, renewable once. Check that the foreign quota in the specific tower is not already full before paying a deposit.
Renting at Vinhomes Smart City
The township has a large rental market thanks to its many Korean and Japanese residents working in west Hanoi. Studios and 1-bedroom units in the Metrolines and Sapphire zones are the most common rentals, while families tend to look at 2- and 3-bedroom units near the lake or in the Masteri towers. Ask whether the management fee, parking and internet are included before you sign.
Pros and cons
- Pros: huge choice of units, complete amenities inside the township, strong rental demand, established community
- Cons: very high density in some zones, busy lifts at peak hours, commute times to central Hanoi, quality and finishes vary between sub-zones
Who Vinhomes Smart City suits
It suits young families who want schools and a mall within walking distance, professionals working in west Hanoi, and investors looking for steady rental demand from expatriate tenants. If you want a quiet, low-density building, look closely at the specific tower before deciding.
