Ana Mandara Villas Dalat is a resort made up of 17 French colonial villas built in the 1920s and 1930s, restored and turned into around 70 guest rooms on a pine-covered hillside off Le Lai Street. It first opened under Six Senses’ Evason brand and now trades as Ana Mandara Villas Dalat Resort & Spa. The villas are not sold individually; this is a heritage hotel, and one of the best-preserved collections of colonial villas in Da Lat.

What you get

Each villa holds a handful of rooms around shared living and dining rooms, many with fireplaces, so groups and families can take a whole villa. Room sizes vary a lot, from about 28 m² to 70 m², because the original floor plans were kept.

  • La Cochinchine Spa
  • Le Petit restaurant in a restored villa
  • Fireplaces in villa lounges
  • Kids’ club and vegetable garden
  • Meeting rooms

Prices and buying

There is nothing to buy here. If you want your own colonial-style villa in Da Lat, look at villa lots on the resale market in the central wards, and check the land certificate and any heritage restrictions before you commit.

Renting and holiday use

Rooms and whole villas are booked through the resort. Rates have historically started from around USD 70 a night for smaller rooms; expect much higher prices at weekends, Christmas and Tet.

Pros and cons

  • Pros: authentic colonial villas, quiet pine setting close to town, whole-villa stays for groups, heated pool
  • Cons: old buildings with uneven room sizes, hilly grounds, no kitchens for long stays, nothing for investors

Who it suits

Couples and families who want a heritage stay in Da Lat, and groups who would like a whole villa to themselves.
